University of Washington Professor to Receive John A. Seibel, MD, Award From International Endocrinology Association

Dace L. Trence, MD, FACE is the 2017 recipient of the American College of Endocrinology Foundation’s (ACEF) John A. Seibel, MD, Award, which will be presented on Thursday, May 4, during the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists’ (AACE) 26th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Austin, Texas.

The John A. Seibel, MD, Award is presented to an individual who supports the mission of the Foundation. 

Dr. Trence is Director of the Diabetes Care Center and Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. In addition, she is the University of Washington’s Endocrine Fellowship Program Director and Immediate Past Director of Endocrine Days.

A longtime member of AACE, Dr. Trence chairs the American College of Endocrinology (ACE) Empower Committee and is the medical editor of EmPower® Magazine – AACE’s free, quarterly consumer health magazine; chairs the APDEM/AACE Liaison Committee and the Nutrition Scientific Committee. In addition, Dr. Trence serves as Co-chair of AACE’s Pacific North West Chapter.

She has served on the editorial boards of several journals including Clinical Diabetes and has been published in other distinguished journals including Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Journal of the American Medical Association, Diabetes Care, AACE’s Endocrine Practice and others.
