Southwest Florida Doctor Receives Endocrine Teaching Award from AACE

Mark A. Lupo, MD, FACE, ECNU, is scheduled to receive the H. Jack Baskin, MD, Endocrine Teaching Award on Saturday, May 6, during the 26th Annual AACE Scientific & Clinical Congress in Austin, Texas.

The H. Jack Baskin, MD, Endocrine Teaching Award is given to an AACE member who has made a profound impact in teaching fellows-in-training and is actively involved in educating in a university setting.

Known for his passion for medical education, Dr. Lupo has served on faculty for AACE ultrasound and thyroid cancer courses, and is a longtime educator of other physicians on neck sonography and fine needle aspiration (FNA) techniques. He is co-chair of the thyroid module for AACE’s annual Endocrine University and Deputy Chair of the AACE Thyroid Education Committee. In addition, Dr. Lupo is on faculty at Florida State University College of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor.

Dr. Lupo is the founder and director of the Thyroid & Endocrine Center of Florida located in Sarasota. He completed his endocrine fellowship through a combined program at the University of California, San Diego and Scripps Clinic.
