Renowned Endocrinologist to Receive the Outstanding Clinical Endocrinologist Award

Walter Futterweit, MD, FACP, FACE will receive the Outstanding Clinical Endocrinologist Award on Friday, May 5, during the 26th Annual American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) Scientific & Clinical Congress in Austin, Texas.

The AACE Outstanding Clinical Endocrinologist Award is given to an AACE member at-large in recognition of dedicated and compassionate care provided to patients with endocrine diseases, exceptional knowledge and expertise in the field of clinical endocrinology, and active advocacy of AACEs mission in both professional and public environments.

I am honored to receive this prestigious award from AACE,” said Dr. Futterweit. “To be recognized for my life’s work from my peers is very rewarding.”

A Clinical Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, Dr. Futterweit has dedicated more than 37 years to the study of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), its pathophysiology, treatment and manifestations of more than 2,500 patients, many of whom he still actively follows.

He has published more than 87 articles, reviews, abstracts, textbook chapters, and in 1984, Dr. Futterweit self-authored a book on PCOD.
