Los Angeles Based Physician Elected Vice President of Major Physician Organization

Etie S. Moghissi, MD, FACP, FACE, was elected 2010-2011 Vice President of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) at its Nineteenth Annual Meeting and Clinical Congress in Boston, on Saturday, April 24, 2010.

“As a charter member of AACE and a member of the Board of Directors of AACE, I have closely witnessed the growth and the impact of the organization. I am convinced that the success of AACE is the direct result of the vision, sacrifice, and selflessness of its leaders and its staff,” Dr. Moghissi said. “I pledge to uphold these traditions and will continue my passionate dedication to AACE, its members, and the patients we serve.”

As Vice President, Dr. Moghissi will act on behalf of the AACE President and/or President Elect in the event that both are unable to fulfill their duties.

As a native of Shiraz, Iran, Dr. Moghissi received her medical degree from Pahlavi University, School of Medicine in Shiraz, where she also completed her internship and two years of residency in Internal Medicine. In addition, she completed her fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Moghissi is Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. She also operates a private endocrinology practice in Marina Del Rey, California. Dr. Moghissi has been a member of AACE since 1991, and served as the 2009-2010 AACE Treasurer. She is actively involved in professional education and is a frequent lecturer nationally and internationally in the field of diabetes.
