California Doctor to Receive Master of the American College of Endocrinology (MACE) Award

Yehuda Handelsman, MD, FACP, FNLA, FACE, will receive the 2017 Master of the American College of Endocrinology (MACE) Award on May 6, during the Convocation at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist’s (AACE) 26th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Austin, Texas.

The MACE Award is given to an AACE member who has received Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE) distinction and is recognized as a distinguished endocrinologist; role model for developing endocrinologists; and contributor to AACE and to the art and science of endocrinology.

Dr. Handelsman is the Medical Director and Principal Investigator of the Metabolic Institute of America and has a solo private practice in Tarzana, Calif. He is a Past President of AACE and the American College of Endocrinology (ACE). He has served on numerous AACE committees and task forces throughout the years, and currently serves as Chair of the Diabetes and Lipids Scientific Committees; and is a member of the Obesity Scientific Committee, and the AACE Board of Directors. In addition, he is a member of several other medical associations and chairs the Annual World Congress on Insulin Resistance, Diabetes & Cardiovascular Disease; Chair and Program Director of the Heart in Diabetes Initiative and Medical Congress; Chair and founder of the International Committee for Insulin Resistance and the International Lipid Forum.

A nationally recognized speaker, Dr. Handelsman has co-authored many AACE/ACE clinical guidelines, and has served on editorial boards of many national journals and publications.
