Saudi Endocrinologist to Receive AACE International Clinician Award

April 29, 2016- Ali S. Alzahrani, MD, FACP, FACE, will receive the 2016 International Clinician Award during the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) 25th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Orlando, Florida, May 25-29. 

The International Clinician Award is given to an AACE member who is a clinical endocrinologist practicing outside of the U.S., and in recognition of dedicated and compassionate care provided to patients with endocrine diseases. Recipients possess an exceptional knowledge and expertise in the field of clinical endocrinology and active advocacy AACE’s mission in both professional and public environments. 

“I am very proud and honored to receive this highly prestigious award from the leading scientific association in the field of clinical endocrinology and metabolism,” said Dr. Alzahrani.

Immediate Past President of the Gulf Chapter of AACE, Dr. Ali Alzahrani serves as a Consultant Endocrinologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as well as a Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at Al Faisal University.

He earned his medical degree from King Saud University in 1990 and performed his fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland from 1995-1998. Also at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Alzahrani served as a faculty member and visiting scientist in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism, before returning to Saudi Arabia and assuming his current position.
