Dr. Jeffrey Mechanick is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of the Kravis Center for Health at Mount Sinai Heart, Division of Endocrinology and Director, Metabolic Support with the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

He received his M.D. degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, completed internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and completed his endocrine fellowship at Mount Sinai.

He is the Immediate Past President of American College of Endocrinology (ACE), Past President of American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), Past President of the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists and a former member of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition (PCFSN) Science Board. He recently completed his term as Editor-in-Chief of the PCFSN journal Elevate Health and continues to Chair the Core International Committee for the Transcultural Diabetes Nutrition Algorithm Working Group. Dr. Mechanick was recently appointed as Chair of the Board of Visitors of the College of Computer, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland.

His current research interests are in nutrition and metabolic support, obesity and lifestyle medicine, and network analysis of complex systems. He has over 290 publications, with over 60 chapters and 9 books, including the recently published Molecular Nutritionin2015 and Lifestyle Medicinein 2016.
